We need to move the LimitState license server software to a new machine - how can this be done?
Answer
To change your license server, we will have to prepare you a license that is associated with the new machine. Please follow the steps below:
- Install the server software on the new machine - see here for details.
- Find the hostid of your new machine - How do I find the hostid of my server?
- Email the hostid to us and let us know if you are using a physical or Virtual Machine, so that we can make you a replacement license for the remainder of your contract.
- Add the new license to the server and read it into the software (instructions will be provided)
- The client machines will then need to point to the new location when checking out a license (e.g. 5053@new_server_name).
